The matron Ancestors of the Aurora Australis Temple

The Correllian Tradition honours the Ancestors greatly and most Temples will have one or more patron or matron Ancestors. In the Tradition these people are referred to with the honourific “Beloved” (abbreviated to Blv.) and mentioned at Ritual throughout the year. These, then, are the matron Ancestors of this Temple.

The Beloved Reverend Loren BORLASE

Blv. Loren was passionate about her faith and the Correllian Tradition and was the person who introduced Lady Olivia to the Tradition. An ongoing battle with cancer saw Blv. Loren often bedridden and ill, yet she always had time and energy to help others with their lives and, especially, their faith. Unfailingly cheerful and wholly dedicated to the Goddess, her life was spent in the service of others and, on her return to the Mother in 2006 at the sadly early age of 34, was spoken of by so many as their inspiration and the person they would most wish their own lives to emulate. She often makes her presence known at Ritual and, if anything falls or does not go according to plan, the cry of ‘Loren is here’ will often ring out – she was known for her practical jokes. We revere her memory and welcome her in our Temple.

The Beloved Patrice (Trish) Suzanne SMITH

Blv. Trish was Reverend Livvi’s life partner for many years but does not gain mention here simply because of that. A deeply spiritual woman all her life, Blv. Trish was the inspiration and the strength behind Rev. Livvi’s fight against the City of Casey despite the physical and financial cost to them both. She saw what they were doing as ‘honouring the Goddess’ and would let no amount of difficulty sway her, or Livvi, from what needed to be done. Blv. Trish was a strong supporter of Paganism in this country and, even through her own illness and final months, made sure that Rev. Livvi stayed on course with her studies so that, one day, a Temple of the Tradition would be here in Victoria for all who sought it and, through it, the Goddess. Blv. Trish returned to the Mother in 2005 but, as anyone who has visited Rev. Livvi or the Temple will attest to, is still here as an active, protective and loving part of all we do.
